In this lecture recital, renowned Korean flutist Miss Dasom Baek will provide an in-depth understanding on the different genres of Korean traditional music that have existed since the olden days, including court music, folk music, and music for the mind and soul. Participants will be taken on a journey through Korea's music history, finishing with contemporary Korean music, and treated to wonderful performances of songs from these genres.

This lecture recital will feature renowned flutist Mr Nguyen Thao Duc speaking about 5 traditional Vietnamese flutes that are representative of different regions in Vietnam, whilst highighting the role of each type of flure in the culture of the ethnic group it belongs to. The introduction of each flute will be acompanied by a short performance to demonstrate how to play the flute, with further explanations that highlight the relationship between the pieces and flute playing techniques.
